Bread & butter pudding

This is the perfect pudding for the colder weather and good timing for British Pudding Day today! It’s great eaten with custard, cream, ice cream or simply on its own!

Serves 4

Prep time 20 minutes (plus 30 minutes soaking)

Cook time 25 minutes

Ingredients

8 slices of bread

2 eggs

100ml double cream

130ml milk

1tsp cinnamon

1tsp vanilla extract

100g chopped milk/dark chocolate

Margarine/butter

Method

1.

Spread margarine and marmalade on to each slice of bread

2.

Cut the bread into smaller chunks and place into a large ovenproof dish

3.

Mix together the eggs, double cream, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla in a jug

4.

Pour over the bread mix and let it soak for a few minutes

5.

Scatter over the chocolate

6.

Preheat your oven to 180C (fan) and bake for 25 minutes/until just set
